If photos snapped on the street style scene are any indication, 2018 is all about making bold fashion statements. And that’s one thing I’ve noticed regarding camo. Fashion insiders are reaching for eye-grabbing pieces, such as loose-fit trousers or puffer jackets finished with a camo print, and making them the focal point of their looks. Whether styling a camo jacket with an outfit, or building a look around a camo jumpsuit, you can’t go wrong by adding the print to your wardrobe. I was recently featured on @saeedsvp for an emerging South Carolina clothing brand @flawlessfashions. Personally, I love the concept of Flawless Fashions Boutique because you have access to a budget friendly boutique that gives you a wide selection for any occasion.
Flawless Fashions was created by the fashion aficionado Courtney Calhoun almost two years ago. Since her childhood she has always had a love and appreciation for styling and beauty. During an interview she remembers experiences when she was a young girl playing in her cousins hair, doing their makeup, and dressing them up.
“My favorite part was putting the pieces together and basking in the finished product. Putting outfits and looks together has always been a pastime of mine”.
In middle school she began doing other girls hair and per her mother’s advice she started charging small fees. Once she graduated high school she went on to cosmetology school to get her hair license. Courtney went on to explain,
“I love everything about beauty from hair, makeup, and a flawless outfit. I created Flawless Fashions because I want all women to feel beautiful from head to toe and be confident in what they wear. I get so excited when my customers feel like they can walk the runway in one of my pieces or do a banging photoshoot with a look that I created. I feel that every women should feel as flawless as their outfit and that’s what I love about my job.”
Her overarching goal is to expand her brand and incorporate additional beauty services so that clients can get an entire makeover in a one-stop-shop. Once she has accomplished that she would consider spreading Flawless Fashions all over the states and possibly even international. For this look I’m wearing the Combat Ready jumpsuit; jumpsuits are one of my favorite winter outfits of choice because of the fact they minimize the need to pick and choose a top or bottom – and can still be worn throughout the year for various occasions. I love them because they’re versatile and very comfortable. I would usually go for a nude or black suit but I love the camo design of this piece that takes away the need for many accessories. It makes it a very easy piece to wear whether I’m headed to a coffee shop in search of wifi or getting some cocktails with friends. For a daytime lax look I’d pair this suit with Old Skool Vans or Ronson Bootie. For a night out I’d go for a Kendall + Kylie Alexx Over The Knee Boot or a Thoraya Bootie.
Disclaimer: If you are interested in the jumpsuit I would suggest ordering a size down!
I am a 5’6” 170ish lb. woman and per my usual online purchasing scale I ordered my jumpsuit in a LG and to my surprise I was drowning in it. A medium definitely fits me best and gives me space to play around with texture and pattern in the form of a lace bralette or bandu. During the winter, I’m prepping for summer essentials – I’m all about comfort and easy pieces that I can layer and style – as well as investing into staple pieces. This year will be all about investing into things I wear regularly that might be very simple, but last – like a day bag, shoes, a denim jacket to chic jumpsuits.
